The third and final book in the Bad Wolf series is available now.

Bad Wolf Bad Wolf Chronicles Tim McGregor 9781484903209 Books

I'd give it 4 stars for the plot/characters and overall read. I read it, found it entertaining, thought it was one of the more interesting 'takes' on a werewolf plot.

I'd give it one star for the cliffhanger ending, which I HATE and refuse to read if I know about it in advance.

So, if you like cop stories and werewolves and can deal with cliffhanger endings, it's as good as anything I've read along these lines.

Since the program doesn't allow a 'not rated' I ended up with a 3 star rating overall but if you dislike cliffhanger endings, find another book.

Bad Wolf Bad Wolf Chronicles Tim McGregor 9781484903209 Books Reviews

I was provided with an audio version by the author for an honest review. Detective Lara Mendes is given the opportunity to work in the homicide division of the police department, but is saddled with the partner that no one wants veteran Detective John Gallagher. When their first case is not what it appeared at the outset, the partners have to quickly adapt and accept that the unnatural can be real. Overall, I thought that the characters were well developed and the plot moved along at a fast pace. There were a few plot issues that I had involving Lara and John. Namely, they had intimate knowledge that their safety was at issue, but they still investigated alone. The cliffhanger ending was a highlight for me, as it leaves the possibilities open for the next book in the series. I would recommend this book to readers who are a fan of police procedural thrillers with a paranormal twist.
I had tons of fun with this book. started off with a bang and just kept going. The story was creepy, and for a while there I was really looking over my shoulder, to make sure no dogs were there!
What impressed me most about this author's writing is the dialogue itself. It was crisp, tight, tough, I loved it! Just exactly the way a hard boiled, cynical cop would speak. Great command of the spoken word. I was not surprised at all when I came to the end of the book and saw that the author is a screen writer...you can tell he knows how to write dialogue!
The creep was really creepy, and his connection with the dogs and his utilization of them was truly scary.
A number of reviewers were put off by the ending, saying it was too abrupt etc...hogwash! I thought the ending was great. The story was left where it should, with Gallagher searching for Lara, kind of hopelessly.... very appropriate.
There were a few grammatical errors and misuse of words, but honestly, the story was so good I just breezed right past. Nothing that couldn't be cleaned up very quickly.
Altogether very enjoyable, and yes, I will be purchasing the next in the series immediately!
Two hardened detectives, a rampaging pack of wild dogs, and a killer who believes he’s a werewolf. I don’t know about you, but this sounds too good to pass up.

I enjoy police stories. There’s always that one guy no one wants to work with. John is just that guy. Tons of baggage and an eat shit attitude. Partnered with Detective Lara Mendez, neither ones happy about it.

As much as I loved the idea of the werewolf using his pack of wild dogs to kill, the dynamics between the two detectives was even better.

Lara wasn’t a pushover. She’d put up with lots of crap to make it to Detective. She wasn’t going to take any from John. How these two navigated around each other was a whole lot of fun. I wondered if they might actually end up being good together and kept my fingers crossed.

The killer and his dogs were super bad ass. Was he a werewolf? You’ll have to read it to find out.

And watch out for the ending. It’s a twister and I sure loved it. It wraps up this chapter and leaves things open for more. A little birdie told me there is.

I own a copy of this book. My review is voluntarily given.
I liked this a lot. The opening scene from the perspective of the wolf grabbed me immediately, and I loved it. I also loved Gallagher, the rebellious cop who doesn't like to play by the rules and drives his superiors to distraction. I got invested in him very early on and knew he was going to be great fun to be around for the rest of the book. You also know there is going to be fireworks when he is partnered with the newly promoted and out to make a good impression, Lana.

I was carried along on a wave of happiness with this book, cops, gruesome murders, wolves and a suspense building plot, my idea of bliss. I found the writing to be of a high standard for the most part, a few minor errors which I think are excusable. The worst person to proof read a book is the author, as they are too familiar with what is supposed to be there, but the huge opportunities for indie authors, and for readers to discover hidden gems, far outweighs the lack of professional copy editing and proof reading in many of the cases. Some people were meant to be authors, whether Publishing Houses thought so or not. Tim McGregor is one of those.

The reason I didn't give this five stars was the ending. I was shocked when I pushed the button on my kindle and found I was actually at the end. If it had been a paper version, I would have assumed someone had played a cruel joke and ripped out the last couple of chapters. Like many others, I am happy to invest in a series, but each book should be stand alone. As much as I loved this, I didn't break my moral code and purchase the second book, which should have been part of the first. I wish authors would stop doing this to us, or design a nice little "Reader Advisory - does not contain an ending" sticker.
